Live from Boston

Well, we arrived Tuesday evening and have been enjoying ourselves ever since. This year's national AMS conference is well attended and in a great location! Boston Massachusetts a city full of history and brick. :)
Growing up on Cape Cod, I frequented Bean Town often with my family, occasionally with friends and for school field trips. When I was a girl, Boston meant visits to the Fine Art museum, swan boats and riding the T. As a teenager Boston meant: Fenway Park, Quincy Market and riding the T.
My most memorable visit to Boston, was late summer the week before school started my sophomore year. My best friend and I visited the city with her family. When we got to Quincy market her father gave her $300. to shop for school clothes. We were 15 years old and giddy with excitement about spending my hard earned money (which I think was a total of $155)and her Dad's gift of $300.
You see for me, I had been working for the summer as a library 'page' and because I had always desired being a writer one day, I was thrilled to re-shelve books and search for obscure local historic information for the occasional patron interested in historic homes.
Anyway, with the money burning a hole in our pockets; we headed to the closest Espree store and began trying on outfit after outfit like we were in a scene with Sarah Jessica Parker in "Girl's just Want to Have Fun". It was so much fun. Well, about halfway through our fashion show in the dressing room of Benneton, my friend spies "THE" perfect leather jacket. She wants it more than anything she has ever wanted in her life...she told me. So we visit the leather store just to "try it on" but it fits so nice and she does look wicked cool. She has a plan. The price of the jacket: $250. including tax. She will buy the jacket put it in the bottom of the bag and then cover it with a few cheap purchases and no one (including her parents) will ever find out.
What is it they say about best layed plans....
So the plan worked......until we arrived home (about an hour south of the city) and her parents asked to see the rest of the purchases she had made with the $300 she had been given?

Now as an adult, I long to visit this city without an agenda. There are so many places to go, things to see and do..
